Standard is more to my liking. I don't even like the car seats tilted back at all. But it is a sweet looking bike.

Bobskoot - I m sure it will be a 250. The used Bonneville is the demo model and they still have it in Eugene, but it is almsot double price of a TU 250 and over a 100 lbs heavier. So, probably not great as my first choice no matter how pretty it is. And when sitting on the two the size feels quite close.

Sonja - Welcome to Vancouver! I too like the BMW's but after the Ninja I don't know if I'd like something that seems so bulky in the front end. Not that it has a faring or anything. Nice to know I'm not the only one who can't make up her mind.

I am sure I'll end up with the TU 250. I really do like the bike, but wonder if I am passionate enough about riding. I seem indifferent sometimes and I think that drives Troubadour nuts.

I worry about spending the money but Troubadour claims he'll flog it back and forth to work for fun. I won't commute with it, as I won't get dressed in full battle regalia for only 3 miles.

One thing about the TU is that if for some reason we don't think it suits us it will be easy to sell. There are NO used ones around.

Cheers!Trobairitzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03453398807198746434noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10735041579950338.post-60012479867451363142010-03-11T19:41:04.430-08:002010-03-11T19:41:04.430-08:00I had the same thoughts when I started shopping fo...I had the same thoughts when I started shopping for a bike (and I haven't made my decision yet...). The Bonnie and the Guzzi were high on my list. Unfortunately the dealer network for the Italian beauty is rather non-existent in Canada, and than the BMW F or G650 made its way up to the top. My heart still goes out to the Brit bike, but it is quite heavy and doesn't have ABS. I guess that's why I tend toward the German bike.
Good hunting! Get what you are comfortable with, perhaps something in the 250cc range and move up later after more road experience.
What happened to the used Bonneville that was there last time ? Preowned is another option

bob
bobskoot: wet coast scootinAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05258612401956399482noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10735041579950338.post-14506054263082589012010-03-06T11:26:21.707-08:002010-03-06T11:26:21.707-08:00Congratulations on the sale of the bike. Check it out!Robhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08333275632735645379noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10735041579950338.post-3115351622605285072010-03-06T10:34:08.492-08:002010-03-06T10:34:08.492-08:00You're a great wife, putting your husband firs...You're a great wife, putting your husband first! That Tiger he's looking at is a good bike, but a totally different ride to his America.

Those bikes you're looking at are nice, and though they seem to be heavy, they're easy to handle, and not too fast. The V7 is really cool, it'd suit you.

Still, enjoy your window shopping for the new bike, its (almost) the best part.El Dientehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10946212402576447854noreply@blogger.com
