For once I kept my mouth shut and looked for the info that I could apply. I also found the class very valuable and was glad to have had the opportunity to learn about both how to look at the accident scene, taking care of the injured as well as documentation for both insurance and the injured (photos and getting witness names). I think a good day was had by all. Thanks for scouting out the program for us.Ricksterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04497070248230917799noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10735041579950338.post-62339010514296926152011-01-20T20:17:16.724-08:002011-01-20T20:17:16.724-08:00Thanks Trobairitz!

Thanks for the fee...Yes, it was a valuable course. Thanks for the feedback everyone.

@ Lori - Mr. Wallace did provide us with a copy of the Oregon Revised Statutes dealing with the Good Samaritan Laws to protect medically trained personnel. I don't think this one day class actually qualifies us as medically trained so I don't know what protection/obligation an everyday citizen has. And as for pulling Troubadour around the house, we'll let that one remain a mystery ;-)

@Richard - the main difference between this class and the red cross was chest compressions and the lack thereof or in reverse I beleive the Red Cross is teaching only chest compressions and no breathing.

@Irondad - No celebrity staus here, just don't like my full name out on the interweb. I don't use my real name on facebook and rarely ever put my first name on my blog. I am a background type of person, hiding in the shadows and not wanting to be in the limelight.

Hope everyone is getting some riding in with our unpredictable weather. I have often thought about renewing my EMT license, too. However, I have learned that I can be held liable and sued if something happens at a scene if I am licensed. Kinda makes me think twice...unfortunately. But your write up does help me lean more towards this course.

And I agree, don't like role playing in a class in front of unknown people. Performing first aid on the dummy made me feel goofy. :) You did good.
