Last Sunday we managed to muster enough energy to walk a few blocks in the drizzle to attend the 2012 Oregon Vintage Motorcycle Show and Swap Meet. It is something we try to do every year and did not want to miss it. This year's marque was Royal Enfield. I took quite a few pictures so I shall keep my narrative to a minimum and break it into two posts.

Sometimes there are a lot of cool bikes found the parking lot that aren't entered in the show. The following were bikes found in the parking lot on Sunday.
(I couldn't resist the espresso colored Vespa) |
(Aermacchi Harley Davidson 'Sprint') |
(Royal Enfield Bullet Sixty-5) |
(Laverda RGS 1000 Corsa) |
And when we moved into the actual show area we noticed a few of our Saturday Morning Coffee regulars had entered their bikes.
(David's custom Norvin) |
(Donn's 1955 Harley Davidson) |
(Bob's BMW) |
(BSA Lightning) |
(1937 250 cc Panther? - please correct me if I'm wrong) |
(1968 BSA) |
(Royal Enfield Bullet 300) |
(Suzuki 500) |
(Honda SL 175) |
(The dynamic duo) |
Stay tuned for part two, which will include bikes for sale in the swap meet as well as a beautiful orange and white Aermacchi Harley Davidson and several photos of a restored Triumph Speed Two, which I think was my favorite of the show.

Great stuff. Love those old British bikes.
ReplyDeleteThanks. I like the eclectic mix of bikes we always see there.
DeleteSome great old bikes there. Especially like that Norvin!
ReplyDeleteThe Norvin is always popular. It is eye candy. You should hear it when he fires it up, it is a loud one too.
DeleteThanks for including the Vespa in this wonderful collection. The Norvin is something very special indeed.
ReplyDeleteI thought of you when I took the picture of the Vespa.
DeleteHold tight, there might even be more scooters in part two.
Yes, please!
DeleteSome very cool bikes there. Good to see so many British bikes in such typically British weather.... Looking forward to la deuxième partie.
ReplyDeleteMerci.
DeleteYes it was very typical British weather. The bikes must have been right at home. Although the owners don't usually ride some of them in the rain I'd imagine.
Call me ignorant but what the hell is a Norvin?
ReplyDeleteA Vincent engine in a Norton featherbed frame.
DeleteAccording to some googling it was one of the mostly highly valued cafe racer formulas.
Don't worry, if I didn't see it at coffee on a regular basis I wouldn't have known either.
David also has a Vincent Black Shadow on display in his family room.
I was going to ask the same question. I suspect a Norton engine in a Vincent frame, or vice versa.
ReplyDeleteYou are correct Gary. If there was a prize you'd win. Alas, I have no prizes.
DeleteAs always Brandy, great pics of some great bikes. Sis you buy one? I am sure Brad would love to add a classic to his collection.
ReplyDeleteThanks Roger and no we didn't buy one. I am sure there were a few that Brad would love to add to his collection, but he can only ride one at a time right lol.
DeleteFabulous photos Brandy, what a fantastic post. Loved the green T500 Titan, they were a great bike. Also the BMW K100RS as I had an identical one!
ReplyDeleteThanks Geoff. And thanks for identifying a few of those bikes too. I knew our friend Bob's BMW was a K (something or other) but I couldn't remember what.
DeleteHow cool to be able to go to a show like that! Very interesting!
ReplyDeleteI liked the green Suzuki 500!
Thanks for the show tour!
Your friends have some beautiful bikes. But I am drawn to the Royal Enfield KX. I'm just drawn the that style.
ReplyDeleteAnd the picture of the dynamic duo is priceless!!
