Happy Spring

.

Last night just before 11:00 Spring officially arrived in our humble corner of the globe.

(My favorite picture that I took on campus weekend before last)

So Happy Spring.... or as they say in Oregon - "let the rains begin."

Ah, well, at least it is a warm rain.

    1. Technically our weather down here is spring-like. Rain, hail, sun, rain, sun, rain, rain, rain.

Did I mention the rain? It rains in the spring here.

  2. Trobairitz:

It was our daughter's Birthday in Mid April (one year a long time ago) and it was snowing, so we may have another month to go before we start getting the warm weather. I suppose we shouldn't complain, our winter wasn't that bad and today is the first day of Spring. besides, barefooting in rain is warmer than snow

    1. Yes, I do believe barefoot in the rain would be way warmer than barefoot in the snow. And if anyone knows, you do.

I am crossing my fingers we are done with the snow.

  3. Enjoy, seems like the whole country is in a heat wave, or the eye of a tornado. Stay safe. I realize you don't have tornadoes out there, but... tsunami or something

    1. Hmmmmmm, if a tsunami hit the coast I just might have oceanfront property.

I think we just have to watch out for floods right now.

On the bright side, the forecast is for sun all weekend so maybe there is light at the end of the rain tunnel.

  4. Hmmm, not much evidence of Spring yet. There are snow berms 15' high along some of the roads and the thermometer is still claiming minus teens every morning....

But I'll take your word for it and ignore reality, Spring is coming!

    1. Sounds like a lot of snow piled up still. And those temperatures, brrr. Guess I shouldn't complain about 45 degrees we woke to this morning

  5. I could live inside those blossoms.

    1. Me too.

Don't you wish we had smell-o-vision?

  6. Ooooowwwwweeee! Look at you! All springy and beautiful and fresh! I love the background and the header. Smell that fresh air and earth. I was just thinking tonight that I need a new header, so tomorrow I'll go searching for one!

    1. Thank you m'lady. I have been playing around with the header pic a bit.

And the background is a little bold compared to usual, but I couldn't resist.

  7. Happy Spring Trobairitz - I can almost smell the blossoms. (Brady, I'm thinking Mother Nature has just been teasing the rest of us, Richard, our snow seemed to disappear over night so here's hoping for you). It's been plus 22 C here for the last couple of days and I'm trying to enjoy every minute of it. (Bob, I painted the toes and "did it" in bare feet - in March!)

    1. Happy Spring to you too. I hope your warm weather holds out. Feel free to send some sunshine this direction.

Our forecast has changed. No sunshine for the weekend, heavy rains are now on the way. Doh!

  8. I, too, like the new header photo. Happy Spring. May your rains be warm.

    1. Thanks. No rains today, we woke to an inch of snow. What's up with that?

  9. Happy Spring Equinox! Troubadour's post reminded me :)

Love the pretty pink blossoms. My plum tree has blossomed, but I swear it doesn't look as fluffy and pink as usual. I think the stormy weather has beaten it down just a little.

    1. Thanks, Happy Spring to you too.

Looking back at pictures from last year there seems to be less blooming this year. I think you are correct that the storms have beaten up the little blossoms.

    1. Thanks. I really liked how the blossoms turned out from that tree on campus.

And the header pic is an older photo from last year but was taken in the spring so it is seasonally correct, lol.

I really like your header photos too, BUT they must be on a "timer", as it always disappears after a while

    1. Weird that the header photo would disappear. I went through about 4 different ones yesterday before I finally decided this looked good enough so maybe it was during the transition?

If it is still doing it, that is just odd.

We have over 2 inches of snow on the ground now and it is still snowing. Sad panda.

  12. So sorry to see you have snow. It should be ours, really. You can keep it for us, but I'm sorry it has hammered your lovely flowering trees.

    1. It is still snowing out there. It hasn't stopped all day. Supposed to stop by 1 am I think. We have about 4-5 inches out there now and it is heavy and wet.

We are crossing our fingers our favorite shrubs will survive but it is hard to see the ones over 6 ft tall bend over touching the ground. We'll see how it fares.

Just be glad it is nice in your neck of the woods. Someone needs crappy weather. It is just our turn to take one for the team. :-)

  13. I love your new header and the Spring Pic is fabulous! Spring brings fresh life, beautiful color, and the need to purge. I'm getting into my "spring cleaning" mood... (I think!) For some reason, I feel like changing all the rooms in my house.

Maybe if I just go lie down for a bit, that feeling will pass. Hmmmm...

  14. Thank you.

I love spring cleaning. I too have had the urge recently to get into the hall and walk in closets and clean them out. Something satisfying to have them all neat and tidy. Laying down should help. Napping isn't good for motivating action. :-)
