.
I saw this on a link through Huffington Post on Facebook this afternoon and had to share.
Would you buy cupcakes from an ATM?
This is about the only scenario I can think of...... It's 3 am and the pubs are closed and you are having a late night cupcake craving? No problem with the 24 hour Sprinkles Cupcake ATM.
Would you, could you at 3 am?
Somehow I don't think these are the same delicious cupcakes that Bobskoot was referring to in his recent post, although both may be topped with sprinkles.

Now I have a serious cupcake craving.
ReplyDeleteI know right.......

ReplyDeleteI am drawn to that delicious PINK machine.
and I hope they use edible sprinkles . . . my mouth is getting dry just thinking about it

I am sure the sprinkles are edible as is the glitter, lol.
DeleteNot too sure why they call it an ATM though and not just a vending machine.
SPRINKLES! ;-D
ReplyDeleteWell said!!
DeleteDo you want cash with that?
ReplyDeleteYes please, lol.
DeletePretty cool idea though I wonder how many they end up throwing away every day. Depending where the machine is located, I can see it getting quite a bit of traffic.
ReplyDeleteIf they were smart, it would be right outside the bakery so people could purchase them after hours. I wonder if they sell day old ones at a discount or donate them. They look tasty.
DeleteWow. Never would have imagined it. Unless it were in New York. Cupcakes always good.
ReplyDeleteIt is Hollywood/ LA so it doesn't really surprise me. We have cupcake places that have popped up in Portland and Eugene, although I haven't tried them yet. I don't think you can go wrong with cupcakes though.
DeleteOf course mine would come out upside down with a mushed box.
ReplyDeleteThat would be my luck, the frosting stuck to the box.
DeleteOh how crazy fun. Cupcake machines all over the world for world peace. I'll have a vanilla and a red velvet, thanks.
ReplyDeleteCupcakes for peace, I like it.
DeleteVanilla and Red velvet sound like very yummy choices.
sprinkles makes the most decadent moist vegan (with a "V" red hard candy on top) red velvet cupcake ive ever had. and im pretty sure their idea is to have these vending machines outside their locations, so freshness is guaranteed. next will be a cake pop machine...
ReplyDeletemmmmm vegan and red velvet.
DeleteNow I really need a sprinkles cupcake.
Darn it blogging on a phone sucks! I think this is weird, I wonder how much a cupcake is. Nothing beats going into a bakery standing there and smelling all the yummy smells. We have a few cupcake bakeries and my fave is the Cupcake girls and the diva cupcake it's delish! I like cupcakes more than regular cake, just the right amount.
ReplyDeleteI read somewhere on the internet that a cupcake is $3.50. I have no idea how accurate that is. Mq01 might be able to tell us.
DeleteI think walking into a bakery smelling the yummy smells would be good, but if they are closed the machine would be a good alternative since it is the same product.
And I agree, cupcakes are better than cakes slices. They help with portion control. As long as we only eat/buy one.
Trobairitz:
Deleteportion control doesn't work. I know from experience. Neither do small slices of cake. I just go back for "seconds".
I think cupcakes are overpriced, I noticed them down on Denman Street at a Cupcake store, around $3.95 I think, plus HST of another 12%. For $8. you could purchase a whole pie

3.50 usd each or 39. a dozen. damn, lol closest is palo alto (hour away) and i REALLY want one now... :) mmmm... i just saw online that the sprinkles founder is a judge on cupcake wars.
Deletephone blogging, lol yes, i totally gave up trying...
$3.50 isn't a bad price if they are as good as the reviews say. it is cool that the founder is a judge on cupcake wars. Unfortunately I just have basic cable so no cool channels to get the neat shows.
DeleteTrobairitz:
Deletenow I know the difference:

I think $39. for a dozen is too much

I agree with the link. Cupcakes are little cakes as a dessert or treat and muffins are a heavy dense item for snack or breakfast. Although some muffins like they sell at Costco are more dessert/cake like than traditional homemade.
Delete$39 a dozen is expensive - that is why you only buy 1.
I find that I can always make things cheaper homemade but then I have a dozen or so at home to be eaten. Purchasing one or two of an item at a bakery is more expensive and not as healthy, but at least we don't have a whole batch to eat. It saves us from ourselves.
Except when it comes to scones...... my scone recipes usually only make 6.
Damn now I'm hungry.
Trobairitz:
DeleteMMMMMmmmmmmm, warmed up scones, with preserves and some beverage to wash it down. If you only make 6, then there won't be any left for you

Now you just sound like Troubadour, lol
DeleteHmmm, at first I was skeptical, but that cupcake looked pretty darn good! :)
ReplyDeleteThis got caught in the spam filter Kari and I just now found it.
DeleteI agree, now I want cupcakes.
That's awesome. I'm not usually a cupcake fan. I prefer a big, honking cake corner with maximum icing coverage. But that's so cool, I would just HAVE TO try it!
ReplyDeleteIt does kind of beg to be tried doesn't it?
Deletemmmm maximum icing coverage. Sounds good.
