Five Minutes of Fame

The lovely Pam over at Helmet or Heels motorcycle blog is doing a series of posts on female motorcycle riders.

Today I happen to be the featured rider.  Click the link below if you would like a chuckle and a bit of background you may, or may not, have already known about yours truly.

Please check out her previous posts on the other lady riders.  You may even recognize others you know.  Check her blog every day for a new profile.

    1. I didn't realize you didn't know my actual name. It has been said before I just usually don't use it since I like being in the background.

That and well .....you get people singing the song Brandy by the Looking Glass and also reference to Barry Manilow who's song 'Mandy' was actually 'Brandy' when written by Scott English, but Manilow changed it due to the Looking Glass song being released. There is even an original recording of it on YouTube.

Venture the link if you dare http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N-zhg1BeUkQ

    1. As I once mentioned and Bobskoot chuckled about - I am too 'non-conformist' to conform with the non-conforming motorcycle groups.

We have some great friends we ride with, but I just can't do the official group/club thing.

  12. Hi Brandy - that's a great profile, can I have your autograph please? Seriously, it's always nice to know more about people you swap banter with. Well done!

BTW, I have a great vegetarian recipe for you and Brad in exchange for the great one on your blog recently which we really enjoyed (had a small variation as we couldn't get a couple of ingredients). Will send it soon.

    1. That would be awesome if you two hopped the pond. If you did't get off Vancouver Island I am sure we'd be coming up there to meet you.

Glad you liked the soup. Tasty and so simple to make. The homemade bread sounds really yummy.

  14. Loved the profile. It is a wonderful series of profiles. I've been enjoying them all, but have been very partial to the profiles of those I know. It is nice to be sort of famous, isn't it?

    1. Thanks Keith. I think is was great of Pam to put these posts together.

Having my name in lights, I mean pixels, is not as daunting as thought it would be.

  15. You say in article you don't get the herd mentality. I'd rather ride with at least someone else but just as content to be by myself. Riding in a pack can be fun but only if all the riders have their stuff together. You all have to be intune to the others and how they ride. I've done it a few times up front leading, in the middle and also the back. I like the middle the least and enjoy the back the most, nothing like seeing the group stretched out in front of you and safety in numbers.
    Enjoyed the interview.

    1. When I say herd mentality I don't just mean riding in a large group, but the need some people feel to belong to groups as well. Belonging to a 'group' is not me. I am more of an outsider on the fringe and I am good with that. Some people like groups, some don't.

Having said that I have done group rides before many times, the largest having 27 bikes. My preference is either just hubby and myself (Like today) or with just a small handful of known to me friends. Either way I am happy riding in the back enjoying the day.
