6/29 for the #29in29

.
Day six of the 29 in 29 photo adventure.

No, I am not smuggling a reindeer home on Max. This is how we carried home our new Tahitian Sunset rosebush from the nursery on Saturday.

I must have looked pretty funny when riding home and stopping for petrol. Luckily it was only 6 miles or so.

Oh, and if you wonder what a Tahitian Sunset rose looks like when in bloom. Here is a pic of our last one. I can't remember why it went kaput.

  1. It does look like you are carrying the remains of a poor Rudolph in there...

    1. I probably should have saved that picture for a 'caption this" post.

    1. Yes, yes it will. I can't wait until it blooms and I can smell it.

  3. Putting funny odd things on the back of a motorcycle is always good for a laugh. I did think you had put antlers back there for a minute!

    1. The Tahitian Sunset is my absolute favorite rose. I was sad when the last one died. The fragrance is so nice, not a heady 'old lady rose perfume' type of scent, just a nice fresh rose scent. I don't remember the licorice or anise scent that the link alludes to.

  5. Lovely colors! So pretty. Bet you can't wait for it to bloom. It is pretty funny sticking out of the tail bag. :)

    1. The colors of the rose go really well with our yellow house and look pretty in a bud vase too.

  6. What fun. It will be A LONG time before I can ride OR get a rose bush...But I'm happy that you are having the fun and sharing it!

    1. One of the perks of living in Western Oregon is the stretch of nice weather we usually have in February. Bare root roses and fruit trees are out in the nursery's now. We can't plant most bedding plants until Mother's Day though. The rain would drown them.

  7. maybe you should call Max 'Rudolph'. The rose is beautiful. I am the original brown thumb gardener, so I don't buy too many plants.

    1. Rudolph? Hmmm, maybe if I gave him a bath and he had a shiny nose (aka headlight).

Now he just looks like a Rudolph slayer, lol.

At first glance I thought that, too. That must really be some spacious tailbag.

    1. It really isn't, lol. We had those zippers stretched to accommodate the roots wrapped in saw dust.
