Scooterpie's Challenge

.
Princess Scooterpie, aka Mistress Scooterpie of ScooterMayhem, threw down a challenge this morning for folks to post up a pic of their favorite non-riding footwear and also one of their riding footwear.

I figured sure, why not.

It didn't come out too clear as I should have used a flash, but this picture shows my favorite shoes.

The back row gets worn 90% of the time.  The others on special occasions or sometimes just because.

(Back row:  everyday winter Keens, everyday summer Keens, Sidi riding boots)
(Front row:  Fancy heels, favorite fancy sandals, funky heels)

(Sidi riding boot & favorite heeled sandal)

(Funky sandals just for fun)

(Sure makes the Sidis look huge)
On a side note this did get me to count my pairs of footwear.  If I include all hiking shoes, sandals, riding boots, Bog boots, dress shoes, heels, and those worn out pairs I for some reason haven't thrown out, I have 35 pairs.  I think it is time to let some go.  For a minimalist that is way too many.

    1. The summer Keens are the most comfy shoes I've ever owned. Walked over 11 miles around San Francisco in them last year. Well worth the $. They are my daily shoe all summer.

    1. What wasn't hard? Taking the pic or painting my toes?

  3. Speaking of which, how are those Sidi boots treating you? I might have missed the post where you gave your thumbs up or thumbs down. Worth the money? I'd still like to buy a "On Road" pair but am hesitant to drop that much cash on something I can't test wear.

    1. I haven't done a review of the Sidis yet. Will probably do one after this weekend. So far I love them but I have had to stop wearing wool socks in the in the summer. Too damn hot. Troubadour bought a pair of Sidi on road boots too and I think he likes them. I ordered mine off the internet so i couldn't even try them on let alone try them out.

  4. 35 pairs of shoes!!! I would dream of having that many shoes, tho I do admit I'm getting close to that in handbags (my weakness).

    Love your funky sandals!!

    1. I didn't think I had that many either. I really need to chuck the ones i haven't worn in a year or so as that will get rid of at least 6-8 pairs.

I only have 2-3 handbags though. I hate carrying a purse, lol.

    1. 35 is a wee bit? Fess up Dar - How many pairs do you have?

Oh and thanks for the compliments on the color - it is my favorite one.

    1. Anyone that knows me knows I have no fashion sense whatsoever and prefer function over fashion, so I blame this post on Dar. it's all her fault I'm showing my shoes, lol.

  7. I love the funky sandals, too. I have really ugly feet so tend to stick to ones that hide my toes. I'll have to get the camera out and go do some shoe shots. Nothing exciting, trust me.

    1. Hey I don't have the prettiest feet either. My baby toe is weirdly short. Sure now that I pointed that out, it will be all you can notice. Come on, take a picture.

  8. It's too bad I'm over 1000 miles from home or I'd play too! 35 pairs of shoes, wow. I think I have maybe 15, and that includes 3 pair of winter boots and a few pair of dress shoes I'm going to try to never wear again.

    1. I think the problem is I have different colors. So for sandals I have a white pair, brown, pair, black pair. Then I bought my Keens and those others sit. Then you add 2 pairs of hiking boots and the old winter Keens i didn't throw out when I bought my two new pairs, etc. Then the heels for dressy occasions. men don't need heels and flat shoes, unless of course you're Bobskoot, lol.

You can play along after you get home. See you tomorrow.

  9. Interesting post. Now, what's up with that mini baby toe? Just kidding, of course. OK, I will now retire from the computer and count my pairs of shoes. But before I go, I found this post interesting because when women ask me why do I have three bikes instead of one, and sometimes they are serious when they ask this question, I respond with another question: how many pairs of shoes do you have? And that usually takes care of it, plus a few laughs are added to the mix. So Bobskoot wears heels? Ok, let me see how many pairs of shoes I have. Cesar

    1. Cesar, thanks for stopping by. I like to lurk on your blog and follow your adventures, maybe now I won't be too shy to comment.

Yeah, I don't know what happened to 'this little piggy', but when I wear sandals half the time it only looks like I have 4 toes, lol.

I like your comparing number of bikes to pairs of shoes. Me thinks you might have more shoes than bikes though.......or maybe not.

  10. Yes, I have more shoes than bikes. But listen, I realized I have several things in threes. I have 12 pairs of shoes. Three are pairs of boots (one for riding, one for yard work, one for hiking), three pairs of day use shoes (one for walking, one for work/dress occasions, one is a pair of clogs), three pairs of soccer shoes (one for indoor hard surfaces, one for indoor carpet, one for outdoor fields that works for turf and grass) and three pairs of flip flops (they are all the same kind, the made in Brazil Havaianas, the best and better looking flip flops there are). I guess I can't quite say I have more shoes than I have bikes. And please post on my site, after all, it is mostly Bobskoot posting there. Does he really wear heels? Not that there is anything wrong with that. Troubador has never posted either, BTW. Cesar
