Reminiscing

I was looking through iPhoto.  Apparently we have 14,367 items, which includes photos and the occasional video.

We have a few pictures of covered bridges and these two pictures  made me chuckle, or was that wince.....

(Me - and Scarlet- at the Crawfordsville covered bridge)

(Nice sneer)
Why did they make me chuckle?  Partly because of my lack of ATGATT (I hadn't found riding pants long enough in the legs), partly because of the squinty sneer from the bright sunshine, but mostly because of my super short hair.  I had a dream last week that I chopped it all off that short again so seeing it in the picture made me chuckle.

  1. Wow! Very different look with short hair. I used to have hair shorter than that. And I prefer mine long now. Though sometimes I wish I had the guts to go back to short for the ease in a helmet. So...are you going to chip it off like in the dream?

    1. I think I prefer mine longer now too. It takes a bit more work but is also nice to just put in a ponytail.

Just a dream, no plans to chop it off.

  2. Funny, I'm getting ready to cut mine short again, harvest it, as I like to say. Nothing wrong with a good short style.

    1. Short is definitely cooler for the summer. At least I can put mine up. It grew in so thick and curly that it is a handful to control at times.

  3. I'd love to have longish hair again. You miss it once it's gone and you have the five inch parting right down the middle.

    1. You sound like my boss - he says he never complains about anyone else's hair since he has lost some of his own.

  4. LOL! I just love the squinty sneer. I should know the answer to this question, but will ask anyway because I can't remember. Do you still own Scarlet? It is a pretty bike. I would not have recognized you with short and darker hair. It's cute, but I would miss your ponytails, which always make me smile. Although as a woman with short hair, I have to say maintenance is sure easier. :-)

    1. If the sun is shining I am always squinting without my shades on. I try to be polite and take them off for pictures but this is what happens. I am very light sensitive. I always have been.

The darker hair in the pics is my natural hair color too, I just have it highlighted now.

We sold Scarlet after Brad bought Lucy (his current Tiger) almost two years ago. Funny thing is we sold it on consignment at the Triumph shop and it is back there again - they guy's friends talked him into a Harley so he is selling the Triumph. How rude. We have pics of Brad hugging it when he saw it two weeks ago. I'll have to post them.

  5. My how things change. I don't think I would've recognized you at all.

    And, nice looking bike.

    1. This was about 2.5 years ago. My hair has grown out and I've lost about 15 pounds so I really do look different.

  6. You look cute with short hair, but I love your ponytails you've been sporting lately. Fun to see the Cruiser again, though it doesn't seem like the right bike anymore.

Squinting at the sun - ya know how it is with sunshine. We so rarely see it, it really burns the eyes when it comes out shining!

    1. Thanks Kari.

The cruiser was hard on the tailbone and the Tiger is so versatile in comparison. I can't see it coming back anytime soon.

That is it, those of us in Oregon just aren't used to the sun.

  7. Love the hair, remember how easy maintenance it is? It looks really cute. Maybe I get to see you again with it? And what a pretty bike that was... don't you guys miss it?

    1. I don't think I'd go that short again. Although it was wash and wear.

I think Brad misses the bike sometimes, but at the same time if he had a choice of which to ride I am sure Lucy would win out.

  8. Whoa! The hair. The hair. I can't get over it. Don't know how I feel about it - you know me and change o_O. Glad you can chuckle at your photos, I tend to cringe and delete! Thanks for sharing Brandy :o)

    1. You mean - whoa the lack of hair right? I cringe but at the same time thought I'd share since it had a bike and covered bridge in the pic.

  9. Trobairitz:

I prefer your longer hair better, but you look good with either. I think you are squinting because Troubadour is doing something goofy with the camera in his hand

    1. I think I prefer my hair longer too. Troubadour never acts goofy - does he?

  10. Fun to look back at some of those "older" photos. I agree, that shorter hair is way easier when pulling a helmet on and off all day. But last summer I got the urge to grow it out. Growing pains! But it's getting there.

    1. Growing pains are just that - a pain, but it is nice to be able to style the hair more than one way. Good luck with growing yours out, hopefully it grows quick.

  11. You were a whole different gal! (Wish I could find riding pants that are short enough ha, ha!) Nice Cruiser too.

    1. Yeppers, short hair and heavier too. Yikes.

I don't know why pants are so hard to fit. They don't really seem to fit anyone do they? I finally had to go to a mens pant. They come in tall, regular and short.

  12. Besides, longer allows more styling. :)
