5/29 for the #29in29

.
Day five of the 29 in 29 photo adventure.

Yesterday was a gorgeous sunny day. A perfect opportunity to try out the new Sidi boots. We rode to coffee at 9:00 am in the freezing temperatures since we knew it would be warm by the time we left the coffee shop.

As mentioned in Troubadour's post, one of our fellow riders had an issue with her Vulcan. The menfolk went out and diagnosed it as a dead ignition coil. The closest shops are over an hour or so away and neither had one in stock so she called a tow truck.

Here is the evidence that the tow truck drivers were obviously not riders. If they were they would have known how to tie down a bike. You would not believe how long it took them to decide where they could hook the straps to secure the bike.

When the tow truck drove away, the bike was moving way too much for having that many straps attached. Once the bike headed off to it's home we headed out to Salem along some twisty back roads.

First stop was Marco Polo Global Restaurant for lunch. It was our go-to place in Salem for grub since they have many menus. One being a vegetarian/vegan menu. We ordered the veggie wonton soup.

The soup looks tasty, yeah? What you can't see in that picture is the little tiny bugs swimming the backstroke in the soup. We think they must have come from unwashed broccoli. We sent the soup back and after about 15 minutes new bowls arrived.

We were told that it contained no broccoli since they made a fresh batch of soup and didn't want the same thing to occur. We might have believed them if Troubadour hadn't found a small piece of broccoli in his bowl. Maybe they just used the same bowls...... ummm we figured they just used a sieve and cleaned up the soup we had. Who knows? They did offer us a free dessert but we asked for a few bucks off our bill instead. After this incident and the odd lunch we had last time we need to find another go-to restaurant in Salem.

From lunch we headed to Costco then home making a few stops along the way for petrol and to pick up a rose bush. It was an awesome day. Left the house at 9:00 am and didn't get home until 4:30 pm. It was nice and sunny and 50˚F when we arrived home. I could get used to more winter months like this.

Oh - and the Sidi boots were great. They are taking some getting used to as I can't really feel the shift lever and rear brake and managed to hit neutral twice yesterday when shifting up, but overall I think I will really enjoy them. For some reason I felt like I couldn't flat foot the bike as well. I don't know if it was my imagination or if the soles are just that different from my other boots. My feet were warm though, no heated insoles needed. Yay.

4/29 for the #29in29

.
Day four of the 29 in 29 photo adventure.

Last Saturday we finally ordered flooring for our home. It was delivered yesterday afternoon. It was a long road choosing exactly what we wanted but we finally opted for a cork floor. Not glue down cork, but a click in tile that comes in 12"x 36" panels. It comes 24 sq ft to a box so we had to order 44 boxes.

Oh Troubadour, I have a list for you......

(Troubadour's honey-do list)

I am very pleased with the quality and color of the flooring so far. I shall try and be patient until we are ready to start the installation.

3/29 for the #29in29

.
Day three of the 29 in 29 photo adventure.

My Fridays usually consist of getting up when the alarm rings at 6:01 am, getting to work by 8:00 am. Leaving the office at noon and doing all the grocery shopping for the upcoming week according to the menu we've created. Then heading home to clean the entire house, do all the laundry and get dinner ready for when Troubadour gets home about 5:30 pm.

Today is no different.

When grocery shopping I always use re-useable bags. Some I buy from the grocery stores others I've just acquired. One of the sturdiest I have was acquired as swag at the Motorcycle Show in Seattle in December and it gets used every week. We don't use Progressive for our insurance but they give away some nice bags made from a tyvek or tarp type material.

On a side note. I was looking at my blogger stats and like Princess Scooterpie posted a month ago, it is interesting to see what has directed people towards the blog. I was highly amused when the following "search keyword" statement led to my blog. So amused I had to share. And I quote:

"body paint wears off tits"

Really? That led to my blog. I about fell off my chair.

The only thing I can thing they would have found was the body paint from the Oregon Country fair and this post. <--- click link and peek at the second picture down. Good times.

2/29 for the #29in29

.
Day two of the 29 in 29 photo adventure. I went for a walkabout on my lunch today since there are usually a few bikes parked downtown in certain spots. Beautiful sunny day, but no bikes to be seen. I had to go back to the office and get creative.

Does this count as moto-related?

1/29 for the #29in29

.
As many of you know Miss Fuzzy of fuzzygalore.com fame has issued a challenge of sorts. Not so much a challenge as an invitation to participate in a 29 day photographic adventure.

Here are her rules:

"
There are no rules other than, take pictures and post at least 1 each day on your blog in the month of February. Too many rules make things annoying so, that’s it. Picture – Post – Yay."

I haven't had the bike out in a few weeks and so I had to get creative with taking a picture of the bike in the garage this evening.

Captcha Conundrum

.

For the last week or two I have been having troubles posting comments on peoples blogs. At first I thought it was just the blogs that had switched over to the new Blogger style, but I'm not so sure anymore.

After drafting a comment I type in the captcha and click preview. The preview will come up and when I click publish it reverts back and tells me my captcha does not match to please try again.

Sometimes I have to do this two or three times before my comment posts. It is really starting to perturb me.

At some point I thought it may have been my iPad correcting the captcha word. That in itself is a pain, but it is doing it on my iMac both at home and at the office.

Is anyone else having troubles posting comments or it just "the nut at the end of the wrench" so to speak?
